New reports show that brands are seeing less engagement on TikTok over time

TikTok is constantly put in the limelight by different industries and dubbed as the ‘new generation’. This is due to the progression of our current world, with information spreading rapidly throughout the Internet. Only by adapting to the current generation, can your brand survive. However, recent reports show that brands are seeing less engagement on TikTok.

TikTok post interactions saw a decline of 35% over the past year. This could be due to the increase in competition on the app. As more brands come to the app, competition gets tougher, which then affects the engagement rate. Another reason could also be that brands aren’t producing enough engaging content for consumers to interact with.

Instagram adds in-stream safety alerts to improve scam awareness

Scammers these days are getting smarter and their messages are becoming much more legit than what they used to be. Fortunately, Instagram has added an in-stream safety alert to improve scam awareness.

Instagram’s system is now able to detect whether an account is impersonating an individual or business, or maybe engaging in otherwise questionable activity, requests to follow you, and new pop-up alerts will be displayed to raise awareness of potential scams. It’s a good thing that Instagram added these new features to prompt users to update their safety and privacy settings to ensure a safe user experience.

YouTube expands access to its ‘Create’ mobile video editing app

“YouTube Create” is a free video editing tool in the YouTube app, mainly for creating YouTube Shorts. The editing tool has various editing options including Audio clean-up, Audio captions, filters and transitions, access to royalty-free music, and direct publishing to YouTube. This feature now is available in 12 other countries like Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Finland, and so on.

That’s enough social news for now, so let’s move on to other marketing news.
